In reply to the discussion: Would you support imposing restrictions on pit bull posts? [View all]The Straight Story
(48,121 posts)And both pit bulls and guns (not the owners, no one is ever responsible) are to blame for things (even though less than 1% of owners of both do stupid things - we learned from the right wing and their hate of Muslims to foment hate/emotions towards the many based on what the few do).
What else should we post on. Every car 'accident'? That would eat up most of GD each day. Same with gun accidents. Same with pool accidents. Etc.
Almost 40k people died of drug overdoses this (edited - last year) year, 11 straight years this has increased. That is enough for a few posts a day and a reason for us to make the 99% who don't OD have to put up with more and more restrictions.
No matter what the item there will be <1% or so who screw up and in a nation of 300 million that adds up.
How about we stop overreacting and trying to fix the 99% of people in a group and focus more on the one thing in common to them all - education.
