These cowards seal thier own fate when they use thier 1st amendment rights to communicate thier bigotry. The genius of the 1st amendment is the fact that thier notions and racism are exposed to the light of reason and honor when they speak thier mind. Even with a black president in the whitehouse, racists are seeing a huge hole in demographic support that cannot be rectified by rallies and media ownership; America's newest generations just arent interested in racist ideologies.
In fact there are studies that point to a future death of intergenerational racism and a sharp decline of belief in, or support of, traditional racist ideology. I hate racism, but I sometimes feel sorry for the racist; what must life be like if you actually believe in and internalize the objectification of entire groups of people based on the fact that they look, dress, worship or love differently than the racist? It must be exhausting to constantly manufacture outrage at or because of skin pigmentation differences between people. The years and years of maintaining outrage and hate must effect the racist emotionally and intellectually. We know that racists often lose close members of thier family over thier racism and are probably left off most holiday invites for the same reason- what must it be like to actively destroy the love others feel for you by supporting racist ideology? It seems like it would eventually become a self fullfilling prophecy- hating others unreasonably leads to loss of love from those you do care about- but this result does not effect the racist mind set, in fact I think it serves to lead to a more rigid regime of racial animus and physical violence. Racists dont just change- they may appear to be shamed by thier own behavior, but that is usually just an act to disguise true feelings and intentions. Racism is not unlike other forms of criminal power abuse and trust betrayal used by child molesters and rapists. Do you think racism is like a disease? Do you suppose there is any cure for the racist individual?
