(32,139 posts)but clearly he IS carrying the corporate water of this administration, including the escalated war on marijuana, waging war against the union and whistleblower protections of hundreds of thousands of federal employees, fighting for surveillance and strip searches of Americans, and letting criminal bankers walk free.
It's good to see you admit that Holder does work with the confidence and approval of the President though, given the constant apologism we have endured here for the past four years, suggesting that somehow the President is powerless to influence his own Justice Department and that he secretly abhors these assaults as much as Americans across the country do.
Of course he won't go: http://sync.democraticunderground.com/10022839672#post24
It seems to me that the corporatization of our government has been accompanied by a very disturbing change in attitude toward the people and our civil protections. Under Bush and now Obama, the stripping of our civil liberties and implementation of privacy invasions has become pretty damned brazen. The attitude to me feels more like, "What are you gonna do about it?"
I wish I were as confident as you that this will garner any shame at all. You can see from the usual apologist mouthpieces here that the arrogant spin in defense of the outrageous has already begun.
Over and over and over again...
