167. There is more of a potential of something bad happening when you put a baby into your

car to go to the store. And we are never safe, never. People whose goal is to be totally safe live miserable lives and are not ever going to be able to achieve that goal anyhow. A baby can suffocate, and tragically many do every year, for no apparent reason at all, it's called crib death. My three month old niece was one of those tragedies. There were no puppies, no kittens, and her parents could not have been more experienced, they had three other children at the time, more concerned, more loving or more careful of her safety.

This world is filled with potential 'bad things' that can happen, yet most of us survive, some children survive the most awful childhoods, in war zones eg.

That is a beautiful photo and the baby is in no more potential danger than s/he would be taking a ride in a car. Maybe we should not put babies in cars because of the potential harm they could come to?
