when i bought a new tv a few months ago, it had the capability of getting netflix streaming. i had a 1 month free trial. yesterday i signed up for the free 1 month trial for DVDs.

they don't make very many good movies anymore so i plan on renting older ones. there were a few good ones recently, i.e., "the descendants", "the help", "the reluctant fundamentalist" and the other night i did a pay per view and saw "side effects". there are a few others, but i can't think of the titles right now. most movies today are geared toward young people, lots of action, etc. i'm 71. it's the same with tv programs. so many good ones were canceled, i.e., "harry's law", "cold case", "without a trace". advertisers want to appeal to those between 18 and 39. they say older people won't change their brand of tooth paste, etc. so we're stuck with stupid reality shows like "the bachelorette", the kardashians, etc.
