The father has been married twice before and a previous wife has a restraining order against him. One of the children is terrified of vacuum cleaners because he was beaten with one. The wife left him and had previously slipped a note to a neighbor claiming she was afraid her husband was going to kill her. One of the kids threatened to kill their foster parent. Child services has received multiple complaints on the couple.

It isn't obvious to me that his Nazi beliefs are all there is to it.
