(36,809 posts)Glyphosate and triazine herbicides have different modes of action and behave very differently in the environment. Glyphosate is an aromatic amino acid inhibitor and is rapidly inactivated in the soil. Atrazine is a photosynthetic inhibitor and has a lot of soil activity and can persist in the soil a long time. Talking about what the nebulous "THEY" may have said or not said is not helpful to understanding what the data actually says. People say lots of stuff and often don't know what they are talking about. Lots of companies make glyphosate herbicides besides Monsanto (patent expired in 2000) and there is also lots of university research on glyphosate. You aren't looking very effectively if you can't find it. For starters, try searching on glyphosate rather than the trade name Round Up.
