One point that many Dany fans from the book tend to overlook, and that the TV show has largely avoided addressing, is that she is the fruit of a LONG line of genocidal sociopathic inbreeders. Her brothers were murderous psychopaths, her father was a murderous psychopath, and her largely branch-free family tree was fully of them going all the way back to Aegon. They were like a cross between the Habsburgs and the Kim's of Korea, with a bit of Stalin thrown in for good measure. There's a reason that the kingdoms rebelled and exterminated them.

While her fans may not look at it, GRRM himself has dropped many hints in the books suggesting that Dany herself may end up going down the same path. If I had to guess at an ending, I currently believe that the story will conclude with some sort of confrontation between a borderline genocidal Dany and a cooler headed Jon (who may also be a Targaryen).
