Weather alert: South Florida under a tornado watch

MIAMI HERALD STAFF REPORT
South Florida is under a tornado watch until 11 a.m. Thursday.

During the early morning hours, Miami-Dade was under a tornado warning, with a severe storm passing over the west-central portion of the county.

Thursday is shaping up to be a wet day, with roads already slick from a steady rain.

“What a mess across South Florida,” CBS4 meteorologist Lissette Gonzalez said on her Facebook page. “Roads are drenched and dangerous and we have widespread storms soaking most of Broward and Miami-Dade.”
