(109 posts)if I have the time, I can usually plan, but even then, best case for us is $125/week. That does include things like paper products, cleaning crap etc. Luckily I have been using the local produce gal, and her stuff is really great and really cheap, so we have been eating a lot more vegetarian meals. Also, after years of living here, finally went to the small butcher shop. I had always assumed it would be expensive (he has a great reputation and the only people I know who go there have money), and it is if you want your meat seasoned, but they are actually the same, if not cheaper (and better quality) than the 3 big chains (Publix, Winn Dixie, and Sweetbay) around me.
We are fortunate. We have many things we can cut back on, but it still hurts to see such a large total every time.
