Their constant "purging" of every idea or notion that isn't cutting-edge, far-right screaming is, essentially, their doom.

Unless there's a sea change in the way they run things, there will not be a Republican party by 2020. They will have, in effect, narrowed themselves into extinction. Their assaults on contraceptives - contraceptives! - is a glaring sign of this self-marginalization
