(16,410 posts)[font color="navy" face="Verdana"]To say nothing of different people. During the post-911 scene you describe, they were probably just too busy to preach. It might have been different in the actual shelters and soup kitchens during more normal times.
All I know in this instance is what an actual member told me was the case when she was a fairly high-ranking officer in a California chapter or regiment or whatever they call local organizations. That's not me just "believing" something with no basis, it's first-hand testimony from a member.
Any group that does charitable work gets credit for those good deeds, but motivation and discrimination do count. For the SA to say that a certain group of people they disapprove of should be denied equal opportunity and should die is not something I can support. Even bigots do some charitable work, but I'll choose other organizations to donate to.
