The wife's face and that grown daughter, from several days ago, tell a story. They frequently smile downward. I've read that reverse smiles usually mean the person is feeling conflicted or distressed or annoyed. I don't know if there are studies on this, but a natural smile doesn't work that way.

The mom has a lot to worry about with her youngest daughter, but at least they have the money to take care of her until her probable early death.
