I have the privilege of not only having a job, but living in a state where the state policy isn't to let poor people die of malnutrition or preventable disease.

The education officials in my state don't believe Jesus rode a dinosaur.

The officials in my state believe scientists over oil lobbyists.

And, folks in my state value human life over that of money. In my state, if someone snatches your purse or wallet and is running away, it's actually illegal to shoot them in the back. Unlike Texas, where killing an unarmed thief in the process of fleeing is specifically allowed and encouraged by the legislature.

Though, in terms of elected officials, I must admit that the Texas All-Star team of Louie Gohmert, Rick Perry, John Cornyn and Ted Cruz are quite an entertaining bunch. You must be so proud.
