LFR note: This kind of living is not just in Eastern Europe. We have people here in the United States that live in conditions like this... or worse.

Homelessness in this country is not talked about for many reasons.

Some say it brings down people's spending. It makes them worry and save back "too much" money. (I know, stupid excuse, but it is one used)

Others say it is for Homeland Security reasons. If such things get too main stream, we will look weak. (I know, but it is yet another excuse used to NOT talk about it)

The real reason is that people just DO NOT want to think about it. Newspapers and shows know that it is a turn off to many, thus Sales Depts. don't like it talked about due to people not watching or reading.

That leaves one to have to use other stories from other places to start a dialog on the subject. This story is a perfect example of what is happening in places in THIS country. However, many do not want to think of it happening here and it is hard to find stories for reason listed above.

So if a foreign story can help open talks...
