For those of you who haven't seen the movie Lincoln, you missed this part!

Let me put it this way. I think of the people cheerleading the NSA Stasi Police State, and gleefully flinging poo for the Official McCarthyist Witchhunt of Edward Snowden, especially here on DU, in the same way that Thaddeus Stevens thought about people defending slavery.
