By the way, I got a police scanner, part of work...not the cute app, an actual scanner. It's frequency range means I could, theoretically, listen to cell phone calls. In the early days of cell phones indeed you could...(and when I was a young EMT they were fun)
Why do you think that part of the radio stream was ahem..made private and your radio shack police scanner can't do that these days? There are good reasons for that. And trust me, radio is far older than the Internet.
Yup, I did that these days...it's a federal felony.
