51. I worked in adolescent treatment

And boys have a really tough time. By the time we got them it was usually because they had become offenders, themselves. These acts really destroy moral and ethical social constraints. The treatment center had some pretty barbaric methods too.

The facility had a PPG, penile plathesmograph (I'm sounding out the spelling) that was similar in function to a lie detector. The boys had a band wrapped around their penis that hooked up to a machine that measured arousal. Then they showed them pictures to see if they were pedophileor homosexuals. I'm not kidding.

I hope this stupid technique has lost favor in the treatment community. Boys and men may react to any stimuli that is sexual in nature. It can be beyond conscious control.
Women too. I think a similar gadget exists to calculate excitement in females. As I said barbaric.
