It was prescribed like candy and now is a controlled substance
It has tremendous withdrawal affects
from shaking and seizures
you can't go cold turkey
you must gradually drop down
It is very addicting
It can stop a persons breathing in large doses
This is a major tragedy in medical history yet to be revealed
Your absolutely correct
and think about it
the doctors handed it out to veterans like candy

I could be wrong, but I think it wasn't classified as a controlled substances until the 1970's.

That may be. It came out in the 1970's as well as Nixon's controlled substance act.
