I like it.

I like the way they have a rookie, a detective, the current Commissioner and the retired Commissioner plus a prosecuting attorney (and the rookie has a law degree) all sitting at one table to discuss issues from all different angles. Then they Have children of various ages there to ask questions (for the audience) and help provide background to the issues. Then the Lawyer is also a mother and the detective's wife is also there to help present a more feminine perspective.

The Sunday dinner scenes are my favorite part of the show.

Disclaimer: I was raised in an Irish Catholic family but no longer practice that faith. Also I have known a first cousin of Selleck since I was in my teens so I am a little bias there.
