do not identify themselves by race or ethnic origin. I'm lily white. Hell, I'm so white I shine in the dark, and I know what racism is and what it is not: Racism is prejudice backed by the power to harm those of another racial group and the will to do so. White Americans have the power to be particularly virulent racists, and have been historically so, but it is not a trait peculiar to us. People of color are as nasty a group of bigots as similar white folks. They just lack the power to harm the white power structure in the US. And anyone from an Arabian culture probably shouldn't be casting aspersions because there are a lot of other profitable forms of cultural bigotry and oppression that are not racist but are just about as damaging. By the way, except for this one point, I agree with everything you said.
