8. From personal experience I can tell you that the U.S. Chamber of (Horrors) Commerce

has been working a grass roots plan of local election influence for Republican and Judicial elections, creating and funding newspapers (They are called ____ Record such as Southeasttexasrecord.com.com). The 1st year of the Southeast Texas Record they did not even sell ads. The papers are free outside the Courthouse next to the jury assembly room. Although toned down now, they still have a propaganda filled editorial and letters to the editor. They will do stories based on what types of trials will be starting so that the issue will talk about how lawsuits are running off Texas doctors if there is a medical malpractice case about to pick a jury and start.
They spread a lot of money around in nefarious ways! The money has corrupted our system completely. Trust me, at fundraisers with the big donors the politician sits down and the Fat Cat tells the politician what he/she wants and clearly makes sure the politician promises to vote and fight for their measures. This is all legal and it leaves no room for the little guys. That is why we have what is known as "spineless Democrats!"
We need COMPLETE CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM (CCFR)!!! Public financing of our elections needs to be a reality and will solve most of our problems if we are willing to be single minded in our fight for it. Corporations control our government right now! This is the fight that we have to win! Until we take up this battle, things will only get worse!
