13. So we cannot be told that we are all being spied on by own government?

Sure, nuke codes and the names of our spies (such as Plame, your Dickness) need to be kept secret.

But the only reason "national security" is compromised by the revelations that our government is continually spying on all innocent Americans is because when the extent of these programs is made clear, these programs will become highly unpopular with any thinking Americans.
