In reply to the discussion: I find it very telling that those speaking out about "contreception" are all males [View all]w8liftinglady
(23,278 posts)33. I have shared this concept with all of my sons.
They KNOW to use condoms.
I used to volunteer at a rape-crisis center.
As I have said many, many times- married women have abortions.I have counseled married women who were raped...yes,raped..by their spouses.
I have counseled college age girls who had non-consensual sex,drugged....shared by multiple partners.
I have counseled young teenagers who had no clue about birth control...whose partners did not use condoms.Who were puking in the mornings, and mom put 2 and 2 togther.
So,be careful when you say "Both he and she had a choice prior to conception (whether or not to have sex) but after sex only one person has a choice that affects two lives. "
These are easy statements to make when you aren't the one making the choice.

OP
They are men. How women choose to regulate their fertility is none of their damned

I would wonder the same about female doctors who choose to specialize in urology, for example.

No it isn't! Aren't you at all curious why a female urologist would choose that particular field?

if they were the ones that had to prevent pregnancy, they would be all over this

Yup, but those of us with rational concerns in the area damn sure want women to have this access
