I would call it a mixed bag. Overturning a key provision of DOMA was big. The Prop 8 ruling was a victory although I would have preferred that it had been more sweeping throwing out gay marriage bans nationwide. Yes I know, that was probably not realistic at this time. The gutting on the VRA was horrible and they essentially punted on affirmative action. So overall it's a wash I would say.
