It's infuriating that local politics kept Zimmerman from being charged for so long. The only reason that we have a trial is due to national publicity and pressure on the local authorities, several of whom had to resign before anything happened.
Add to this Zimmerman's history of being fired as a bouncer for being too violent, and his previous attacks on a police officer and women.
