it is INDEED that crazy and hateful. It is the most FUCKED UP state I have EVER had the misfortune to visit and I can truly say that I HATE going there. The everyday people, by and large, are good and decent however, there are too many racist and kooky nuts there who are just hateful and unbalanced. So, appparently, it isn't the same place you remember from the 90's.
