unfortunately, I don't think that it will work long term. As soon as any of these measures become popular, the political structure of the capitalist system will outlaw them. Which will put the practitioners outside of the law anyway. Again.
Taking political power and changing to a system that will SUPPORT bottom up changes rather than top down status quo is the only way to assure the long term changes that are needed.
