39. I 've had the same experience

Every right-winger that I know--whether it be a coworker, neighbor or relative-- adamantly denies listening to Limbaugh---or Beck or Hannity. When I bring up something stupid Limbaugh said they always say, "I NEVER listen to him! He's an idiot." But then at the same time they will spew Limbaugh talking points that I heard on sites like Rightwingwatch.org or Media Matters. They QUOTE Rush but never attribute the quote to him so I know they are lying!
But it makes me wonder why they feel the need to lie about it. Personally I think they know that most sane people think that Rush is a flaming a--hole. But at the same time I think they love to listen to him because he tells them what they want to hear. In other words they are, deep down, bigots, misogynists and quite frankly fascists. It's just that they don't want to admit it. That's my take on it anyway.
