That *IS* the economy, right there: you pay someone to do a job, and they spend that money on whatever they need or want. The money moves around, and it doesn't matter if that money comes from a public or private employer. ONLY IN THE MINDS OF PRIVATE SECTOR OWNERS (and those they can convince to agree with them) is there a "problem" with public sector employment. Private sector rich folks in a capitalist economy see public sector organizations as competition. The private sector exists to make money for those at the top, so public sector (i.e. not for profit) goods and services are perceived as cutting into *their* pie. So they, or their followers, do the usual cutthroat, win-at-all-costs, lie-if-you-have-to, capitalist thing in order to make government seem undependable and unreliable with the excuse that people won't be "dependent" on government anymore..... and then, of course, those people can start to be "dependent" on private sector companies! [roll eyes here]
