DU's population is subject to the rules of THE BELL CURVE just like any other population with measurable characteristics.

As an average person with average critical thinking abilities, I think your observations are accurate on the fringes, but, in general, (about 90% of the area in the middle of the Bell Curve) I think DU'ers are good at critical thinking and are very well informed on most things, except for the obscure stuff I like - like Zappa, MST3K and nostalgia nitro front motor dragsters.

Flame away, but I get most of my news from DU, as OP opinions or links to other good sources of info, like Thom, Amy, Palast and other non-corporate-propaganda journalists.

By the way, does Dick Armey pay you by the word or letter to post such observations at DU?
