I get the impression, despite the fact that I'm trying to make a very general point, that perhaps you've decided I'm really talking about some specific issue X, and that you don't like what you think I'm saying about X. Like maybe you think I'm trying to excuse something?

I also fully admit I could be reading you totally wrong. You've given me very little to go on.
