(6,811 posts)and no, your assumptions don't work. party affiliation is just a label. it has no relation to adoption of platform, organization, slate, etc.
it's only power is that which we give it: being a short-hand to critical thinking. and this power is realized by either those embracing the label to represent, or do, their thinking, or for others making assumptions upon the self-labelled's judgment.
it's when using critical thinking and acting in accord with the party platform that determines one's judgment and character.
so a label's power is only as empowered by the acts behind it...
its related to your concern in the beginning of this topic -- except there can be no offense about labels because only one's acts reflect upon one's character.
and the republican party platform, organization, slate, and acts reflect quite directly upon them being callous, nihilistic monsters.
the awareness of their actions' supporters similarly reflect upon them -- and support of such actions easily transcends any mere label boundaries.
