or to reassure the flying public. Especially if the pilots didn't survive the crash.
That's kind of been dancing around my head, too (wondering if it's pilot error) -- it almost seems like an "oops" kind of thing, you know?

The planes instruments and GPS tracking would give the pilot all the information.

Yes, you can see the other plane, but it may be on the runway closer to the camera.

That would have placed it between the witness and the runway where the crash occurred.
