4. Sometimes in our lives....

We experience moral 'pop quizzes'. It is not so much a matter of passing or failing as much as it reveals the nature of our character.

For example, Elliot Richardson as attorney general was ordered by his boss, then president Richard Nixon, to fire special prosecutor Archibald Cox. Rather than do what he perceived as morally wrong, he was refused and was himself fired. He displayed integrity and is remembered for his character.

Rev Jane Holms has taken her moral pop quiz and has revealed her character. History will judge her kindly. I cannot say the for the police chief and certainly for the governor and legeslators.

They are pygmies among giants.
