Glaring Anecdotal Evidence that the GOP is Making a Mistake with the Contraception Issue [View all]

I just got off of Facebook where I was chatting with a few mothers I know. They all have teenage girls or boys. I posted the comment that was cited here from Santorum about contraception being wrong. All of the women I was talking to are good, church going women. And all of them are appalled that the GOP is pursuing this issue. Appalled and dismayed. They were saying things like, "I have to deal with 'Sixteen and Pregnant' and now I have the government trying to say I shouldn't get _________ the pill." Another woman who is the YOUTH LEADER at her church said that she buys condoms practically by the case for any of the kids that she knows who ask for them. And she was particularly vocal about how screwed up Santorum is.

This isn't a scientific poll, but I live in upstate South Carolina. And if the parents here are pissed about this, you know the parents EVERYWHERE are.

(I had to point out to the one woman that Santorum wasn't 'the government' yet. Her reply? "Well hopefully he never will be."??!?!?!)
