65. I can't fathom how anyone could be surprised by this. This is 'Water Is Wet' level news.

His freaking father is one of the most extensively documented racists and homphobes this country has known in recent times. The Ron Paul newsletter was frightening material, there was never any question that these guys are bonkers in many unsavory ways.
I also really can't fathom the amount of attention he gets on DU, he's a Senator from Kentucky, one State away he looks and sounds like a character being done by Will Farrell without strong direction. What is that on his head? What's the atavistic decadence theme in the lingo?
What's the largest percentage his Daddy ever got in a Republican Primary? I don't expect much more out of Rand. He can't carry States where parody is not seen as a personality type. He's eccentric on top of the racism, regionalism and whatnot.
And yet he seems to be the great fear of a good deal of DU. And his nature as a right wing retro racist seems less than established as well, which shocks me
