11. There are always police out for crowds in Chicago

It's "Taste of Chicago"--there are a hundred thousand people coming home from it. And yes, perhaps they have extra cops called out in case of any activity related to the verdict. But it's been at least an hour and a half or more since the verdict. The local news would have stories and pictures if there were any major activity.

A police scanner is not an indication of anything.

A group of 40 people somewhere in a city of more than 4 million is not an unusual occurrence at any time of day in any part of the city.
