I think that the jury rendered the only verdict it could under Florida law...and I also think that this is a travesty of justice. The law needs to be changed to reflect the fact that it's not necessary to be the one to throw the first physical blow in order to be considered the instigator of a conflict...and thus the person who bears the responsibility for the outcome. The fact remains that Zimmerman brought this situation about.

There is no reason they couldn't have found him guilty of manslaughter.

I think the jury didn't understand 'manslaughter'. They should have asked Judge more questions.
