On a serious note when I learned partners was unable to visit the bed sides and attend to others needs I knew this was a very bad situation. Friends are the very best care givers, they care about you through whatever comes. A few stories of families preventing partners from being at the bed sides was awful but now thank goodness this is changing. In the last few years I have been by the bed side if dear friends who did not have family members or the patient did not want family members there, we went willingly and gave care.
