(17,824 posts)I have no expertise on that subject, but there are people who do and they could give the proper advice. Are we going to arm all women just because there's a slim chance they will be raped? People in law enforcement and other occupations that deal with rape victims can give advice on rape prevention -- how to keep from being a target and that sort of thing. Too many people think that they'll be protected by a gun and don't know of other ways to avoid rapists and other criminals. I can understand why a woman would want to carry a gun for such situations, but I wonder if she would be just as secure with a can of mace. Sure, it can be a dangerous world, but we can't let fear run our lives so much that we have to carry guns with us everywhere we go.
