--Aside from the fact that presidents are prohibited from interfering in DOJ cases-- the more Obama supports something, the more opposition and less chance for success it has.

He's the only president who has been denied an actual bully pulpit. Oh, theoretically he has one and he can use it, but the opposition will scrutinize every word he says as a bullshit excuse for doing the opposite.
