In reply to the discussion: What is your opinion of the jurors in the Zimmerman case? [View all]HolyMoley
(240 posts)6. I have to give them a bit of respect for even serving on that jury
Even for a mediocre case, jury duty can be a PITA as it is, trying on ones patience, time and home life.
On a high profile, controversial case like this; saner people would have avoided it like the plague (I know I would have).
And given the publicity and gossip this case had generated, bailing out of it would have been a simple matter. But, these 6 women didn't, and I admire and respect them for that.
And, I respect their decision as well.
These 6 aren't "racists", "stupid", "ignorant" or any other disparaging term people hurl at them
They served their civic duty, and performed their responsibility according to the law.
It's disgusting that they would be vilified or spat upon by anyone.

The jurors appear to be incapable of putting themselves into the shoes of Treyvon's parents.

apparently, to get an 'unbiased jury' , they had to chose the dumbest fuckers in the county.

Save for the one with a possible book deal, I try to have no opinion on the jurors themselves
