Instead, he has doubled-down on it. I suspect that there are institutional forces beyond his control that made it near-impossible for him to act against the increasing power of the Executive Branch. Be that as it may, the fact is that our Executive Branch is more powerful than ever, and I agree that this development is a threat to our Constitutional framework.
