51. I suppose that I think that people have to take some measure of personal responsibility

for themselves. Don't know if that's really a "conservative" perspective or not but sometimes I feel like sometimes some people spend more time blaming others for their situation than they do assuming responsibility for their part in their situation and get stuck instead of getting themselves together and doing what they need to do in order to move forward. I don't believe, like some "conservatives" do, however, that that means that people aren't (sometimes) at the mercy of forces beyond their control or that government shouldn't try to step in to assist them.
