I totally believe the premise of the OP. A promise, however, will have to
be good enough for me. No more Grover Norquists running this country!
A wave of pledges would be just another mountain to cross if and when we
ever have the opportunity to bring the country back even to the lousy status quo it
was a generation ago ...

Just one woman's opinion.
