3. We do have too much debt.

The problem is not that the federal government does not collect enough revenue --- it is that it is spent on the wrong things.

A trillion dollars a year for the military and all its attendant programs in other agencies (Energy; State; Veterans; etc.).

Billions and billions of dollars for spying on us.

Subsidies for corporate farmers ... All kinds of corporate welfare.

Of course, we will all be better off if the federal government has to budget less for interest payments and could use that money for infrastructure improvements, etc.
