In reply to the discussion: Snowden plans to settle and work in Russia lawyer to RT [View all]MADem
(135,425 posts)136. Hawaii is one of those states where it's not easy to just slide in and out.
I can take back roads and go to CT, or RI, or NH, or VT, and maybe escape notice if I borrow someone's car, splash mud on the license, and make sure I have enough gas to get back....but don't they check everyone coming in to HI to make sure they aren't smuggling a rabid dog in their hip pocket, or something? I haven't been there in years--and I didn't go to any of those vacation-y islands, I went to Oahu for work--so my first question is, WHICH island?
Did he go party on Maui-wowee like a vacationer going "to an island in the middle of the ocean" to see rainbows and unicorns or did he go to a rather congested island that is Quickie Tourist and Business, and military, and ... NSA ... combined?
Inquiring minds want to know!!!!

I can see it now, Snowden applies to Russia's Federal Guard Service and they gladly employ him.

He would not have to worry about US drones, they would take care of him.
