an education in the "graphic picture" of which you speak:
"Those who came from a US slave background were robbed of that. Read 20 years a Slave by Solomon Northrup, it will give you a graphic picture of the dehumanization process they went through".
... I asked a question of someone who appears to claim that racism is just another ignorant manifestation of poor people. I beg to differ. Racism may be more obvious and/or more poorly hidden among the impoverished classes of our collective American society, however, I truly believe that unfortunately, racial bigotry pervades all economic classes.
What makes you (and apparently others) assume that I don't see the disgusting truth of racism in America by asking this question of that poster?
Is it because I mentioned the fact that I don't see it overtly happening here where I live?... Because if that is the case, let me just take this opportunity to say that these (collective) assumption(s) are wrong...
If there was more racial diversity here (which I would welcome btw), I'm 100% sure that I'd see racial bigotry in action among the local populace, just as seems to be the case everywhere else. Possibly even among people I would not have dreamed held those views.
But the original point of my question to the poster seems to be lost in all of this... Why does he or she think that only poor people are the only ones to hold these racist views? I'd love an answer. Unfortunately, it does not appear that I will get one.

I wish they could arrest all the people that think what he did and said was OK.

I doubt it. It's almost an open and shut case of a hate crime. DOJ would definitely enter. nt

economics & power create race & racism; without constant enforcement, such distinctions die.

This reminds me of a Dennis Hopper movie I saw many years ago, called 'Paris Trout'.
