(1,895 posts)the dehumanization process of US slavery. It was unique, and the fall out is still falling. In regards to your mentioning of class, the dehumanization of black Africans was a process of stripping them of any class. IF you would take the time to read the link I posted, you would see how "upper class" black folks were stripped of any pretense of class by the enslavement process.
Of course, class prejudice is a serious matter. No money means you can't go to the dentist, so your teeth look funky, you can't go to get a snazzy haircut, you can't get a good education, your time is filled with survival tactics for you don't have a lot of time to polish your thoughts, and it goes on and on.
A look at the likes of the Jerry Spinger show gives us a look into "class". However, it has been easier for White people to escape their designated class, but all but impossible for the descendants of African slaves.
